Coastal area

      The Costa Dourada, the coastal area of the Alentejo is practically all part of the area
      which is protected by the Parque Natural. That is why you'll find many untouched beaches
      here, instead of large apartment complexes like in the Algarve.

      You can visit great coastal towns such as Porto Covo and Zambujeira do Mar. Between Ilha
      do Pessegueiro and Praia do Malhão there is a long stretch of sandy beach where you can
      walk for hours, and impressive cliffs, especially near Almograve and Cabo Sardão. These
      cliffs are interspersed with pretty bays.

      If you'd you like to have a great meal with a view of the sea, you can visit for instance
      “O Sacas” in Porto da Entrada da Barca, a small distance north of Zambujeira do Mar, or
      “Choupana” on the beach of Vila Nova de Milfontes.
